Transport North East – Have Your Say

DTP recently took part in an online public consultation event for the first North East Transport Plan. The plan is part of a strategy to ‘drive forward major improvements across the transport network to 2035’.

As part of the consultation event the North East Combined Authority and North of Tyne Combined Authority are seeking YOUR views on the draft Transport Plan by completing the survey available here:

The plan includes a programme of almost 300 live schemes across seven local authority areas and is aimed at overcoming the long-standing challenges of the the area including:

  • a growing but ageing population
  • major health and income based inequalities
  • substantial housing plans that need transport support
  • below average productivity in the region
  • fewer businesses per head
  • planned spend per head a lot lower than London
  • poor air quality and congestion in parts of the cities
  • public transport use falling and
  • vehicle emissions

Consultation closes on 14th January
