Principal Transport Planner

Recruitment : Principal Transport Planner

DTP are an independent Transport Planning Consultancy based in Durham looking for the right candidate to join their team. DTP support a varied range of developments across the UK and are the go-to specialists in drive-thru and roadside developments, working with some of the biggest developers and brands in the industry who are experiencing continued growth whilst consistently innovating the market.

The role would be working in a hybrid environment, with time split evenly between the office In Durham and remote working. Our style of working is very different to a traditional transport planning consultancy and would suit someone who would like to remove the stress of timesheets and focus on delivering for the client, whilst working closely with the external project team.

The role would be suitable for a Senior Transport Planner looking to progress to Principal level or an established Principal Transport Planner looking for a change in working arrangements. The role can be shaped around the right candidate and can offer both full and part time roles to suit YOUR circumstances.

DTP primarily undertake works including production of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plan, Road Safety Audits, Traffic Modelling (including Micro-Simulation), Detailed Highway Design and other works as required to discharge highways related planning conditions.

Our office is currently based on the outskirts of Durham City Centre with free parking and access by public transport. We are looking for someone based in the NORTH of England (NE or NW) who can incorporate a hybrid working arrangement between remote working and office visits to be discussed once we know a little more about you and your circumstances. Our ideal candidate will be looking for a role that directly impacts the business strategy and growth of the consultancy and is motivated by delivering for their client.

Your technical abilities will cover all aspects of Transport Planning including but not limited to :

  • Liaison with clients;
  • Production and finalising of professional reports;
  • Traffic Modelling capabilities;
  • AUTOCAD and AutoTrack abilities; and
  • Project Management skills.

DTP would suit someone who is driven to providing high levels of customer experience, genuinely takes an interest in what they are working on and relishes seeing a completed project that they were part of. Salary £35k – £50k (dependent on experience) plus non-contributory pension, flexible/hybrid working arrangements and generous holiday allowance.

Transport Planning Technician

Recruitment: Transport Planning Technician

DTP are looking for a Technician competent in AutoCAD to join the Transport Planning team in Durham. The role can be considered as a part or full time role in a hybrid working environment between our office at Durham Cricket Club and remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide essential support to the DTP team to ensure successful delivery of a project in a timely and accurate manner;
  • To undertake and present vehicle tracking using AutoCAD and AutoTrack to a high standard;
  • Produce/amend highway design drawings as directed;
  • To contact external project teams to ensure the completion of projects within client timescales;
  • Contribute to the brand awareness of DTP within their role to expand the profile of the company;
  • Desirable: input to tabulation and presentation of traffic data and use of GIS software to prepare site location and accessibility plans.

DTP work extremely hard to ensure that works are fit for purpose and deliver on the client brief. The role would suit someone who is seeking to continuously learn, has an interest in the sector and someone who wants to excel in their role.

It is desirable that the candidate would also possess the ability to use Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel, Word and Teams and be eager to learn and assist in other areas of Transport Planning to ensure the team to meet client deadlines.  A Full-time position would be considered for someone who can demonstrate ability to support the production of Transport Assessments/Statements and/or Traffic Modelling.

The role would be suitable for a Graduate looking to progress or an established Technician looking for a change in working arrangements.  The role can be shaped around the right candidate and can offer working arrangements to suit your circumstances.

DTP primarily undertake works including production of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Road Safety Audits, Traffic Modelling (including Micro-Simulation), Highway Design and other works as required to discharge highways related planning conditions.

Our office is based oat Durham Cricket Club with free parking and access available by public transport.

Salary £21k – £24k pro-rata (dependent on experience) plus non-contributory pension, flexible/hybrid working arrangements and generous holiday allowance.

Senior/Principal Transport Planner

Recruitment : Senior/Principal Transport Planner

Dynamic Transport Planning (DTP) are recruiting for an experienced transport planning professional to join their team.

DTP are an independent Transport Planning Consultancy based in Durham who support development projects of all types including residential, retail, employment, leisure and roadside schemes all across the UK.  DTP primarily undertake works including production of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plan, Road Safety Audits, Traffic Modelling (including Micro-Simulation), Detailed Highway Design and other works as required to discharge highways related planning conditions.

The position is for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner based in the North of the UK.  The role will be a hybrid role with candidates able to work remotely and at the office based in Durham Cricket Club.

DTP prides itself on ensuring developments are safe, viable and sustainable.  Our knowledge and impact with our clients goes beyond the basic brief of a transport report and we are looking for someone with the same values to join our team based in the Northern England.

The right candidate will possess a high level of technical transport planning ability but most importantly will relish the opportunity to have a huge impact on the growth of an independent SME.
