At pre-application stage the developer was made aware of an existing traffic model that Highways England held which could be used to assess the development impact at a large signalised roundabout located adjacent to the site. Upon submission of the planning application the client was asked to pay a substantial fee to have this model updated.

DTP reviewed this request and upon understanding the context of the existing model being for a wide area, proposed that a LINSIG model would provide a more accurate basis to assess the impact of this development. This was accepted by the LHA and Highways England with the development now approved.
